1. Ask yourself: Am I Ready to Go Back to School?

Going back to school is probably one of the biggest and best decisions you will ever make! So be smart and think it through. Make sure you know what you want to get out of your education before you set out on your new adventure.

2. Find The Right Program.

What are your goals? Research all of the possible degree and certificate paths you can take in medical billing and coding. It’s important that you find a program that aligns with your career goals. This might sound obvious, but it’s a very important step that some students overlook!

While almost all online schools can offer you convenience and flexibility, they do not all offer the same programs. One school could have a program that better suits your needs and career path.

Many schools offer both online and local campus options, which might be worth considering if you are able to attend campus classes. We always recommend students look into more than one school! It’s important to compare tuition costs, programs and financial aid opportunities—you just never know until you start doing your research!

4. Apply For Financial Aid.

Financial aid can come in many forms…Scholarships, grants, loans and more!

Did you know that you can apply for financial aid before you even apply to college! It’s true. Importantly, you will need to know which schools you are interested in applying to prior to filling out your financial aid application.

You will need to include the schools that you are interested in on your financial aid application so that your application will be reviewed by those schools directly. Different schools could offer you different amounts of financial aid—which could affect your decision on which school to attend!

5. Apply To School.

Now this is the exciting part! Once you’ve found a school that you want to attend, you need to send in your application. Most schools allow students to apply online or by mail. You can also call and have someone help you with the process.

6. Create A Schedule That Fits Your Life.

If you have a full-time job, kids or any other responsibilities, it’s important to create a school schedule that will work with your busy life.
